New Neutrals: Navy x Olive

For the longest time, I’ve been donning black and white and grey as my go to neutrals. But this season, I want to change it up. Instead of the classic colors mentioned earlier, I’m aiming for what I consider as the new neutrals: navy, olive, and bone (a lighter taupe). Put these three colors together and you’ve got a semi military inspired look that is 100% pulled together.

I’ve recently discovered this New York based contemporary handbag brand,Violet Ray. I’ve styled their Drew bag in Taupe with a navy short suit paired with an olive silk shirt, black suede pointed toe heels, topped with a pair of burgundy framed sunnies. I love the color of this bag. In person, it’s the perfect taupe color (in photos, it comes off as lighter). I also adore that no animas were harmed in the making of their bags. It is a great and affordable quality bag – I want them all!

Try something different than your average black bag and opt for a lighter or brighter color! Accessories are meant to add to your outfit, not so much blend in with it. As you’re building your bag collection, remember to vary in shape and size! The Drew bag is the perfect rectangular shape that fits more than you could imagine!
