I’ve got to be honest, I’ve been “spring cleaning” for WEEKS. It doesn’t stop! Or maybe I’ve just not effectively gotten rid of anything. Once I feel like I’ve truly cleaned out my wardrobe or cleared the house of junk, I realize there is more to get rid of. I have chairs serving as homes for massive piles of clothing. In a studio, everything, every mess and ‘hidden’ mess, is in plain view. But getting rid of things helps me to make quick decisions about what is necessary… it helps me to discover a new way of looking at what “necessary” means. It doesn’t mean limiting myself to neutral colors or to just jeans and t-shirts – things I wear on a daily basis (i.e. black, white, grey, blue jeans and black jeans, t-shirts). It now means simplicity, ease, and comfort. Those 3 things make an item necessary for me to keep.
I’m ready to put the long coats away and make room for things like long, flow-y jumpsuits, bomber jackets, dusters, and dresses. I’ve made room for my Spring bags like this one from Camelia Roma. Bags like this have me styling an outfit around the bag itself! The color is so perfect and is not just suitable for Spring but for any season. It looks utterly luxurious and expensive but is affordable. And if you know me by now, you know I’m all about affordable luxuries. Your wallet and your closet will thank you for this.
